Our core safeguarding principles are: Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility The school’s responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children is of paramount importance Safer children make more successful learners Policies will be reviewed at least annually unless an incident or new legislation or guidance suggests the need for an interim review.
All staff, employed at Bettws Lifehouse, undertake accredited Level 2 Safeguarding Training annually and refresher training midway through the academic year. As per statutory procedure, all employees also complete Prevent Training every two years. In addition to this, as part of their CPD, all staff complete other relevant training, relating to safeguarding and child protection, at regular intervals throughout the year. We record all of our concerns about a child using an electronic system called CPOMS. This system helps to monitor children in our school.
